NFL Players Have a Lower Arrest Rate than the Public

June 28, 2008

Not Everybody in the Media is Racist Thanks to Brent Schrotenboer!

Professional football players are out of control. With more money than maturity, they’re more likely than the general public to drive drunk, get into barroom fights and generally act like thugs, hoodlums and common criminals.

Right?

Wrong.

Every once in a while, a reporter will take a step back from the conventional wisdom and check it against the facts. That’s what the San Diego Union-Tribune’s Brent Schrotenboer did last week.

For a two-part series, “NFL Crime and Punishment,” he analyzed 308 arrests and citations of National Football League players since 2000 and found:

* The overall arrest rate for football players is about half of the general population. In any given year, about one in 45 NFL players — a little more than one per roster — gets arrested. The national rate is about one in 23, according to the FBI. [78]
* Drunken driving arrests accounted for a third of the arrests. Still, the drunken driving arrest rate is about one in 144 for NFL players — slightly better than the national rate of one in 135.
* Fifty players were responsible for 40 percent of arrests, with multiple DUI and other charges.

Schrotenboer then goes looking for answers about the nature of the problem, and why the perception is different from reality. His experts come up with the usual suspects: the media, society, racism, the “car culture,” a lack of personal responsibility, poor upbringings.

The Hate for Black Athletes, and the Media Outlets that Push It Part II!

June 24, 2008

CBS Sports www.sportsline.com.  On any given day you can go to this hate site and find hate speech.  It’s a shame they don’t clean it up.  If there is a lawyer out there who would like to take the case, I’ll serve as the plaintiff.  Just write me.  It shouldn’t be too hard to prove as the following is CBS Sport’s own disclaimer:

Bad logic, ignorance and selective memory are all prevalent on these forums, and none of these are valid reasons to warn another member. If you don’t like what is said or how it is said, you may rate the content appropriately; however, such factors are not legitimate reasons to warn another member.

In the meantime enjoy this nugget of CBS Sports hate by Mowse:

YOU CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH.

Imus is right.  You hear about an athlete who has been arrested multiple times and chances are 99.9% the athlete is black.  Hell, you hear about an athlete who has been arrested once and the chances don’t go down all that much.

I have been saying this forever.  Criminal athlete problems are primarily in the NBA and NFL.  The two sports leagues that are primarily black.  You do not have these problems in MLB or NHL.

Say what you want about Don Imus.  He is not afraid to speak the truth.  Neither am I.

Truth does not equal racism.  That ideaology is liberal bullcrap.

The Hate for Black Athletes, and the Media Outlets that Push It!

June 13, 2008

On a daily basis a person surfing the internet can go to espn.com or cbs.sportsline.com and find some very disturbing comments.  The problem is not so much the comments themselves, but rather the trends seen in the comments, the common themes, the big picture.  I’ll try to sum it up for you…  a money hungry out of control black athlete who should be grateful that he gets to make millions of dollars for playing a stupid game can’t seem to live righteously.  This money hungry fool is too stupid to understand that he, despite being too stupid to do anything else has been blessed with a winning lottery ticket, and now can’t even cash in that ticket.

Check out this post by the user jmanna at cbs.sportsline.com, this individual has a rating of professional, which means he’s a well established member of the community.

Bill Billichek is not what’s wrong with the NFL. What’s wrong with the NFL is that is infested with black gang banger thugs who beat their wives, deal in drugs, screw prostitutes, and commit murders. If it were not for football, these black players would be either selling drugs on the street or picking cotton in the south. God knows they can’t even write their own name. The commissioner is correct in going after these low life criminals and not going after a coach who, admittedly, got a little too free with the camcorder.

or this one,

Hay, I’s be Michael Strahan and I can’ts speaks english” “W’d done stomp-ed you’s outt!!” “I can’t spell or read either.

These outlets are always cheering on the cleansing of sports, particulary in regard to removing seedy characters from organizations.  Perhaps the cleaning should start at home.

Free Michael Vick and Support True Justice Part III

May 26, 2008

Again today I was browsing for some news on Michael Vick and this travesty of justice that has become the Vick saga.  Here’s what I found, you know those killer Pit Bulls Vick was allegedly fighting, well they are all being found new homes.  HUH?  Killer Pit Bulls going to live with families, does that make sense…  The article even stated

Normally, pit bulls taken from fighting rings are killed, but Besmehn said she hopes this shows they can be rehabilitated.

Oh well don’t ask any questions here folks just another piece of the pie that doesn’t add up.

Free Michael Vick and Support True Justice Part II

May 9, 2008

Free Michael VickIt seems fitting to write part II of this series today. The Associated Press, an organization of worthless empty individuals, who publish a good majority of the propaganda in the world wrote a story about Michael Vick today. In yet another travesty of justice the AP claims:

Vick is serving a 23-month prison sentence at the U.S. penitentiary in Leavenworth, Kan., after pleading guilty last year to bankrolling a dogfighting ring.

Wow, that’s quite a leap from the true charge which was:

Conspiracy to Travel in Interstate Commerce in Aid of Unlawful Activities. and to Sponsor a Dog in an Animal Fighting Venture.

Of course the average American wouldn’t understand this law, the AP will claim this as justification for their LIE. I say perhaps the U.S. government shouldn’t be charging people with crimes the average man wouldn’t understand. Of course this fancy title helps the government with it’s political prosecutions, like Mike Vick. Indeed the government enjoyed the distraction that Vick’s case brought during a tough period in Iraq. Overnight the front page of every newspaper in America changed from Iraq to Vick. The organization PETA was leading the charge, flip flopping between screams for Mike Vick’s blood and disclaimers of having to wait for his trial to finish. Indeed the organization that was often ridiculed in most American media markets, became credible overnight.

Now the government had only one task, to make Vick guilty. The initial charge truly helped as conspiracy is a code word in the American justice system for prosecute at all costs. The prosecution’s game plan was simple, take the three tired hooligans associated with Mike Vick and lean on them until they flipped. Now mind you the government had very little concern in justice all they wanted was a prosecution. So here’s how they did it. These three tired jokers were threatened with superceding charges, meaning they could plead guilty to minor charges now and flip on Vick or face the hammer. The fact that a judge let such nonsense go unchecked is amazing. This is the equivalent to plead guilty to jay walking today or we’ll charge you with reckless endangerment next week. If you gave me this kind of power I could make the three stooges flip on anybody with any charge I wanted. I mean this put the capital BS in integrity. If only the BS had stopped here, if only it had, Mike Vick would be free today.

The BS didn’t stop right there though, because what came next was the whopper of American justice. The threat of RICO charges. The RICO charge is indeed a charge that was created to prosecute at all costs, it is the mother of all charges. Basically the federal government can take any convict in America get them to testify against you for a lighter sentence and successfully prosecute with Rico charges. The burden of proof is almost non existent. This is for good reason though as the charge was initially created to prosecute gangsters, the kind who could make witnesses disappear. Of course since then it has turned into a shotgun blast of phony justice, http://www.independent.org/publications/tir/article.asp?articleID=215&issueID=38. I find it amusing that the U.S. government goes around the world lecturing about corruption and human rights, when an innocent man like Mike Vick can be annihilated in such a circus of justice. Mike Vick isn’t the first though, nor will he be the last.

So the AP can continue to write it’s lies, much like it did in the swaying of public opinion against Vick. In the end God will lay his judgement on us all, I’m pretty fine with where I sit, and I’m pretty sure Mike Vick will be fine. After all let’s not forget that prior to his unjust demise Vick was helping those that society ignored, providing a great example for all god’s children.

Corporate Media’s Drive by Shooting of Rev. Wright

April 30, 2008

The modern day American corporate media can at best be described as a group of thugs intent upon keeping their boss in power.  The Iraq War, the environment, car accidents, all of these issues are spun time and time again to protect the most powerful amongst us.  Now they are pulling drive by shootings on preachers, taking neat little sound clips and portraying a man of god as a man of evil.

Next task at hand …  promoting child labor, slavery, …  nothing would shock me.  It’s a real shame that our media has become this bankrupt.  By the way they are indicting his entire congregation when they suggest he is a man of evil.  So now the media wants us to believe Wright is a lunatic who has the support of 8000 people far morally superior to them.  I’ll pass.

Disney/ESPN Debate: Clinton VS Obama

April 17, 2008

Thanks for making America dumber one broadcast at a time. This debate was painful. Charles Gibson’s questions were so out of line, so out of control, so … Affirmative action, hmm, I would say that was on display tonight, does anybody really think if Charles Gibson were that bad and black, hispanic, asian he would have his job. Ditto that for George Steppin-all-on-us!

My favorite might have been Gibson’s question about capitol gains tax and revenue. When you raise the capitol gains tax the revenue goes down and vice-versa, Gibson boldly proclaimed! Well Charles thanks for this brilliant advice, let’s lower the tax to 1 percent than we can really rake in the dough!!! Perhaps Charles Affirmative Action Gibson can move on to sports correlations next, what happens to capital gains tax revenue when the American league wins the world series, Charles?

Another brilliant D/ESPN employee working to make America dumber one broadcast at a time!

Free Michael Vick Part I Addendum

April 5, 2008

Since posting part one of the Free Michael VIck series I have received many emails suggesting that Vick plead guilty and that was the end of this case. Well I beg to differ and there are many legal experts who would agree with me.

Law professor Stephen Schulhofer offers this general critique of the system: “The major problem with plea bargaining is that it forces the party into a situation where they have to take a guess about what the evidence is, about how strong the case might be, and they have to make that guess against the background of enormously severe penalties if you guess wrong. So defendants, even if they have strong defenses, and even if they are innocent, in fact face enormous pressure to play the odds and to accept a plea. And the more likely they are to be innocent, and the more strong their defenses are, the bigger discount and the bigger benefits the prosecutor will offer them. Eventually at some point it becomes so tempting that it might be irresistible, especially when the consequences of guessing wrong are disastrous.

“So the result is that the system as a whole doesn’t do what we count on it to do, which is to sort out the guilty people from the innocent people. It doesn’t do that because the guilty people and the innocent people are all faced with the same pressure to plead guilty.”

Keep your head up Mike!

Free Michael Vick and Support True Justice Part I

April 4, 2008

Michael VickTo understand the Michael Vick case you have to truly follow exactly what went on in this remarkable modern day atrocity of justice. On April 25th, 2007 police executed a warrant on Davon Boddie for drug charges. When searching the property they found 66 dogs, 55 of which were pitbulls. They went to this residence looking for Davon Boddie because he was the one paying the property taxes. Davon lived at the residence. This was one of the most amazing things about the Mike Vick case, many of Vick’s haters wanted to see him go to jail simply for owning the property where they believed this crime took place. This “new found” assumption of responsibility would put many landlords in jail.

Once the police discovered all these dogs they began working with the local prosecutor Gerald G. Poindexter in an investigation of the matter. Pointdexter decides not to execute another warrant brought forth by investigators as he believes they were overzealous in their prosecution. This is to say the least, initially there were reports from the media that detailed fighting dogs, blood on the carpets, and a “rape stand”. The rape stand is amazing as this was never explained as a common utility used by dog breeders, and it is hardly ever called a rape stand, it is called a breeding stand. Still this was sold to the public as the smoking gun, clearly these guys were up to no good.

On June 7th after tons of pressure from the general public, quite amazing considering how animals in America are abused religiously, factory farming, veal, … the food industry. Still this was different this was the dog, the most beloved animal in America! Well minus the 2 million that get killed every year in shelters, while “dog lovers” go get pure bred four legged companions. In spite of this dozens of federal agents from the U.S. Attorney’s office in Richmond, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and the Virginia State police executed a search warrant. This was an unprecedented display of cooperation and allocation of resources in the fight against dog-fighting, or should I say Mike Vick.

Over the next several weeks it all came out the Federal authorities alleged that Vick and his crew had been fighting dogs for over five years. The 18 page indictment said the crew hosted dog-fights, sponsored dog-fights, killed dogs, and traveled out of state to fight dogs. The most amazing thing about all of this was that while the government knew this had been going on for over 6 years they had not one picture, not one video, not one audio tape of any of these gentlemen mentioning a dog fight, viewing a dog fight, or participating in a dog fight. Don’t let the facts bother you though folks. I mean it’s not like these are the same guys who locked up Allen Iverson in a true travesty of justice … oh wait they are

As a junior, Iverson quarterbacked Bethel High School’s football team to the state championship, which they won.

Iverson was later involved in a highly publicized incident on Valentine’s Day that almost jeopardized his college career. On February 14, 1993, Iverson and several of his friends became involved in an altercation with a group of white teenagers at a Hampton, Virginia bowling alley named Spare Times. Allen’s crowd was raucous and had to be asked to quiet down several times, and eventually something of a shouting duel began with another group of youths (all white). Then shortly thereafter, a huge fight erupted, pitting the white crowd against the blacks. During the fight, Iverson allegedly struck a woman in the head with a chair. He, along with three of his friends who are also African-American, were the only people arrested. Iverson, who was 17 at the time, was convicted as an adult of the felony charge of “maiming-by-mob”. Iverson and his supporters maintain his innocence, claiming that he had left the alley as soon as the trouble began. “For me to be in a bowling alley where everybody in the whole place know who I am and be crackin’ people upside the head with chairs and think nothin’ gonna happen?” asks Iverson. “That’s crazy! And what kind of a man would I be to hit a girl in the head with a damn chair? I wish at least they’d said I hit some damn man.”[2]

This incident was profiled on the television news magazine 60 Minutes due to claims of racial bias in the adjudication of the case. Douglas Wilder, at the time Governor of Virginia, became convinced that Iverson had been treated unfairly and controversially granted Iverson clemency, releasing him from his sentence. Iverson’s conviction was later overturned on appeal.

… hmm so maybe they aren’t so credible, we’ll hear more in part deux!!!

To be continued …

Reverand Wright is … Right?

March 23, 2008

George Washington’s Slaves1. Reverend Wright claims 9/11 was a case of the chickens coming home to roost. Actually he quoted somebody else as saying that, but let’s just pretend were lazy like the media and that Reverend Wright made that comment himself.

Well the 9/11 report, as stated by Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul, states that 9/11 was indeed partly a response to some of our actions.

http://bbsnews.net/article.php/20070518033503883

2. The government pushed drugs into the black community. Correct!

Released on April 13, 1989, the Kerry Committee report concluded that members of the U.S. State Department “who provided support for the Contras were involved in drug trafficking…and elements of the Contras themselves knowingly received financial and material assistance from drug traffickers.”

In 1996 Gary Webb wrote a series of articles published in the San Jose Mercury News, which investigated Nicaraguans linked to the CIA-backed Contras who had allegedly smuggled cocaine into the U.S. which was then distributed as crack cocaine into Los Angeles and funneled profits to the Contras. According to Webb, the CIA was aware of the cocaine transactions and the large shipments of drugs into the U.S. by the Contra personnel and directly aided drug dealers to raise money for the Contras.

In 1996 CIA Director John Deutsch went to Los Angeles to refute the allegations raised by the Gary Webb, and was famously confronted by former LAPD officer Michael Rupert, who said he had witnessed it occurring. [6]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CIA_drug_trafficking

3. With regards to the Aids virus, there is absolutely no proof to substantiate that claim, but there is the Tuskegee experiment. Which was an awful breach of trust, when the U.S. government screwed over 400 black men, and did more to ruin it’s reputation in the black community.

For forty years between 1932 and 1972, the U.S. Public Health Service (PHS) conducted an experiment on 399 black men in the late stages of syphilis. These men, for the most part illiterate sharecroppers from one of the poorest counties in Alabama, were never told what disease they were suffering from or of its seriousness. Informed that they were being treated for “bad blood,”1 their doctors had no intention of curing them of syphilis at all. The data for the experiment was to be collected from autopsies of the men, and they were thus deliberately left to degenerate under the ravages of tertiary syphilis—which can include tumors, heart disease, paralysis, blindness, insanity, and death. “As I see it,” one of the doctors involved explained, “we have no further interest in these patients until they die.”

A couple of points. African Americans as a community and individually don’t have to forgive America for anything, just like America doesn’t have to forgive Bin Laden for 9/11. Sorry, if America didn’t want to be linked to racism it shouldn’t have been so deeply rooted in it. It should not have participated in the slave trade. This is the equivalent of Charles Manson saying his murders are a thing of the past, it’s time for his victims their families and others to move on.

Second when has America ever denounced it’s bigotry. The father of this country is still George Washington a slave owner. Is that moving forward? How many slave owners do we still honor with statues and holidays? America does not have to denounce a man who committed horrid and egregious acts of human rights violations and disenfranchisement, but Barack Obama must denounce his preacher for words. In fact America celebrates this man and many others like him as part of the proud history of this nation, the same one it keeps telling blacks to get past!
